Ann-Caroline Breig

In this new collection Ann-Caroline Breig returns once again to describe reality that always derives from the Matriarch powerful position. AC explains: "When I walk in the deep forest, I can often hear mother earth speaking to me, it reveals and cracks the frail mask of human nature. Mankind is fresh from mother earth's wounds and is dominated by the majesty of Nature".
There is an ongoing experiment that is tireless and curious. The research is showing great ability of mixing different and apparently discordant techiques to transform her compositions into a real meltingpot. The language is original with a hypnotic intense presence that evokes inner states, collective dreams and nightmares.
The work is expressive and it articulates a narrative drama full of historic-sexual-political themes mixed together with images from a lost paradise. You cant escape the lust and love in AC´s work.
After graduating from Royal Academy Schools in 2007, Ann-Caroline moved back to her beloved forest in Sweden.
She is living and painting in an old stone church in the company of her dog and drives a run down Aston Martin.
